At Kinship Works we support more human ways of improving our lives together
We help organisations and systems break out of the sticky and often inhuman patterns of bureaucracy to build something more organic. We centre the human stuff, from relationships, to places, to the infrastructure and rituals of a thriving civic life.
We came together because we worry that the systems we all rely on — large, bureaucratic institutions — are struggling with today’s biggest challenges. From loneliness to chronic ill-health, to entrenched poverty and the care crisis, we face challenges that are complex and intrinsically human. We believe human challenges need human responses.
Although we work a bit like a consultancy, really we’re more of a network. We can link you up with brilliant practitioners to help with the many tricky aspects of being more human in a bureaucratic world - from data and evidence to movement-building, leadership, story-telling, and organisational design.
Our goal ultimately is to strengthen the wider movement that we are a part of. That’s why our work is additive, not competitive, and always open and collaborative. Much of what we do is about strengthening the work of others - celebrating, connecting, convening, spotting patterns, and codifying.
These are some of the many wonderful organisations and initiatives we see as allies in the wider movement:
